We are a group of citizens committed to opening and sustaining a quality schools that prepare students for post-secondary education, career opportunities and ultimately empower them with technological savvy and skill sets necessary to navigate the demands of a global economy. One key strategy strongly desired and supported by the Community Action Council is the development of school-based mentoring programs for at-risk youth. CAC members are from all walks of life including elected officials, parents, educators, alumni, community leaders, local school council members, etc. We are working in partnership with Chicago Public Schools, the 8th Ward Office and the Black United Fund of Illinois.
